to Iowa Seed Association Members

LEGISLATIVE REPRESENTATION

The ISA has a strong legislative voice with registered lobbyists at the State Capitol and an active Legislative Committee that keeps the members updated on issues related to the seed industry. ISA members also are provided with the opportunity to meet and discuss issues with legislators at meetings and through various other forums.

COOPERATION WITH ISU & IOWA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE

The ISU Seed Science Center is a portal for the Iowa seed industry and a source point for education and information. This center has a permanent seat on the ISA Board of Directors. ISA also works closely with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship on regulations affecting the seed industry.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ISU STUDENTS

The industry has raised over $1 Million towards this important program. ISA annually awards over ten scholarships to ISU undergraduate students. Tuition for graduate students in seed sciences is also awarded.

ANNUAL CONVENTION

ISA has partnered with the Agribusiness Showcase & Conference to provide training and education to members.

ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

All proceeds from the Golf Tournament go to the ISU Seed Scholarship programs. The tournament is a fun way for members to meet with those they already know and an opportunity to make new contacts as well.

NEWS BULLETINS

The ISA keeps members updated on issues important to the seed industry and your business, including state and national legislative issues.

FIELDWATCH PROGRAM

Through a partnership with Fieldwatch, Inc. the ISA and its members have built out specific programming for seed companies to communicate the timing and location of seed workers in their fields and automatically communicate this information to aerial applicators.

COVER CROP INITIATIVE

The cover crop initiative continues to help Iowa seed growers through its partnership with IDALS by offsetting up to $15 per acre for seed growers that use cover crops on their seed acres. So far in 2020, we anticipate reaching over 200 growers with payouts of nearly $600,000.
